Jessica C. Beckman

Jessica C. Beckman is Assistant Professor of English at Dartmouth College, specializing in 16th-17th century literature. Holding PhD from Stanford, her research examines material texts and reading practices through formalist and book history lenses.

Her monograph 'The Kinetic Text' analyzes how early modern books used spatial design to create literary effects. Current projects investigate embodiment in pre-modern character representation. Recognized with Huntington Library Fellowship and teaching awards for interdisciplinary humanities instruction.
