Jessica Burghart is a Lecturer in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship at the University of Kansas. She holds a Ph.D. in Management (Walden University), M.Phil. in Management (Walden), MBA in Management and Operations (Friends University), and B.S. in Business Administration (Haskell Indian Nations University). Her research focuses on Indigenous business strategies and leadership, with a particular emphasis on Native American business development.
Teaching responsibilities include courses in international business, business policy, financial management, and production operations management. She has held industry roles at Honeywell and GM, and serves on the Prairie Band Potawatomi Tribe’s Ethics Committee. Burghart is an advisory board member at Missouri State University and sponsors organizations like American Indigenous Business Leaders and American Indian Science & Engineering Society.
Recent achievements include a $250,000 SBA grant for the Tribal College Small Business Achievement Program and presentations at academic conferences.
