Jessica Acosta

Jessica Acosta is a Lecturer in the Department of Communication at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), affiliated with the College of Liberal and Fine Arts. She teaches courses such as Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, and Business and Professional Speech.

• B.A. in Communication (2015) and M.A. in Communication (2018) from UTSA.

Her research interests focus on communication pedagogy, interpersonal dynamics, and the application of communication theories to educational and professional contexts. She has published a textbook on interpersonal communication (2020) and co-authored a study on trust violations in relationships (2019), highlighting her interdisciplinary engagement with social psychology.

The trends in her publications emphasize empirical and theoretical exploration of communication practices, including relational trust, teaching methodologies, and emotional resilience in interpersonal interactions.

Jessica previously taught at institutions in Denver, Colorado, such as the Community College of Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and Front Range Community College. She moved back to San Antonio in 2021 to be closer to her family.
