Jessian Munoz

Dr. Jessian Munoz is an Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, specializing in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Fetal Surgery. He is affiliated with the Division of MFM/Fetal Therapy and Surgery within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and serves as a key member of the Texas Children’s Hospital multidisciplinary Placenta Accreta team. Fluent in Spanish, he is recognized globally for his expertise in high-risk pregnancies and fetal interventions.

His research focuses on placental disorders, particularly Placenta Accreta Spectrum (PAS), aiming to reduce maternal morbidity through innovative protocols. He also investigates fetal anomalies requiring prenatal surgical intervention, including spina bifida, congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH), and twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS).

Recent publications highlight advancements in ultrasound diagnostics for fetal tumors, outcomes of fetoscopic laser photocoagulation for TAPS, and protocol-driven management of PAS.
