Jesse McLean is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Film, Video, Animation and New Genres at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her work bridges artistic practice and academic research, focusing on nonfiction, narrative hybridity, sound design, and intersections between art and popular culture.
Education: MFA in Moving Image from the University of Illinois at Chicago and BA in Studio Arts from Oberlin College.
Research emphasizes experimental film techniques, post-production methodologies, and the exploration of human/nonhuman relationships. Her films have been showcased globally at venues like CPH:DOX, New York Film Festival, and Venice Film Festival.
