Dr. Jess Mitchell is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management at Monash Business School, Monash University. With 30 years of teaching experience across institutions in Australia, the UK, South Africa, Sweden, and the Philippines, she specializes in management, entrepreneurship, and innovative pedagogical approaches. She currently teaches MGC1010 - Introduction to Management, MGB3684 - Business Strategy, and BEX2030 - Social Business: Principles and Practices.
Her research focuses on entrepreneurship education, ethnic/social entrepreneurship, technology in education, and gamification. She has pioneered frameworks like the 'Catch me before I fail' early intervention project (2022–2024) to improve student academic performance. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, she has received prestigious awards including the 2023 Australian Awards for University Teaching Citation and 2021 Vice-Chancellor's Technology Innovation Award.
Key collaborations span universities globally, with notable contributions to UN Sustainable Development Goals through education-focused entrepreneurship initiatives. Her work bridges academic rigor with practical pedagogy, emphasizing student engagement and digital transformation in education.
