Jess Mandel

Jess Mandel, MD, is a Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the UC San Diego School of Medicine. He serves as Vice Chair for Education in the Department of Internal Medicine, overseeing medical student training. Dr. Mandel specializes in pulmonary vascular disease, critical care medicine, and hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT). He has authored two textbooks and numerous scholarly articles on pulmonary medicine and medical education.

• Fellowship: Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Brigham & Women's Hospital, Boston

Research Interests: Dr. Mandel focuses on pulmonary vascular disorders, critical care innovations, and medical education. His work includes managing complex respiratory conditions and advancing clinical practices during crises like the COVID-19 pandemic.
