Jeffrey Pollak, MD is the Robert I. White, Jr. Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at Yale School of Medicine. He serves as Director of the Yale Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT) Program and Director of the Vascular and Interventional Radiology Fellowship Program. Dr. Pollak is a vascular and interventional radiologist specializing in minimally invasive treatments for blood vessel abnormalities and tumors.

Dr. Pollak received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, and undertook his Vascular & Interventional Radiology fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He has been at Yale University School of Medicine for over two decades, serving as section chief and director of the fellowship program in Vascular & Interventional Radiology.
Dr. Pollak's research focuses on embolotherapy for vascular abnormalities and malformations, minimally invasive tumor treatments including ablation techniques, and management of hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia. His work on pulmonary arteriovenous malformations, intrahepatic portosystemic shunts, and venous procedures has established him as a leading expert in these areas. He has published extensively on vascular interventions, particularly in the management of pulmonary embolism and HHT-related complications.
His most recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on mechanical thrombectomy for pulmonary embolism, pulmonary arteriovenous malformation management, and vascular interventions in HHT patients. The research spans interventional radiology, cardiology, pulmonology, and genetics, reflecting the multidisciplinary nature of his clinical practice and research interests.

Dr. Pollak directs the Yale Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia Program, the first of its kind established worldwide in the early 1990s. As co-director of the Yale Pulmonary Embolism Response Team, he leads a multidisciplinary group focused on advancing management of patients with severe pulmonary embolism. His clinical work spans multiple programs including the HHT & Vascular Malformation Program, Interventional Radiology, Liver Cancer Program, Pancreatic Diseases Program, and Smilow Interventional Oncology Program. Dr. Pollak is known for combining technical expertise with patient-centered care, using honesty and humor to reassure patients during complex procedures.
