Jess Findling is a Lecturer in Criminology and Justice studies at RMIT University's School of Global, Urban & Social Studies (GUSS). She holds dual qualifications in social work and criminology, with a decade of professional experience in community organizations supporting victim-survivors of domestic and family violence and disability advocacy. Her research focuses on family violence, trauma-informed practice, and the intersection of theory and practice in social work and criminology.
Teaching responsibilities include coordinating Case Management Practice (SOCU 2114) and contributing to the Graduate Certificate in Domestic and Family Violence program. She also teaches Specialist Family Violence Case Coordination and Management (HWSS 2246). Her research aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality), particularly addressing gender-based violence prevention and systemic responses.
Findling's work bridges academic research and practical interventions, with publications exploring refugee interviewing protocols, workplace violence prevention strategies, and legal frameworks impacting vulnerable populations.
