Dr. Jess Britton is a Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh's School of Social and Political Science, affiliated with the UK Energy Research Centre's Local and Regional Energy Systems theme. Her work focuses on governance frameworks for smart energy systems, decentralized energy actors, and net-zero transitions. She holds a PhD from the University of Exeter (2019) examining heat networks in the UK and Germany, and prior roles included ESRC postdoctoral fellowships and contributions to the IGov project.
