Jesper Johansson is a Senior Lecturer in Social Work at Linnaeus University, where he has held roles since 2010, previously at Växjö University. He earned his PhD in History in 2008 with a thesis on LO's immigration policy (1945–1981). His research focuses on migration, welfare policy, labor movements, and cultural heritage.
He teaches courses on welfare state organization and social policy principles. Current research includes projects on global social work and migration's impact, digital heritage in cultural conflicts, and social work practices with refugees.
Notable publications address topics like archived interviews' role in migration narratives and welfare state integration policies. He coordinates national research networks on migration and social work and leads the Department of Social Work since 2025.
