Jesper Berg

Jesper Berg serves as an associate professor in the Department of Finance at the University of Copenhagen and Copenhagen Business School, while holding concurrent positions as Non-resident Fellow at Bruegel, Senior Advisor at Rud Petersen public affairs consultancy, Senior Fellow at the CIP foundation, Chairman of One Health Insurance, and IMF consultant. His extensive career includes leadership roles as Head of the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority (2015-2023), Executive Board member at Nykredit Bank, and senior positions at the ECB and Danish central bank.

His academic foundation comprises an M.Sc. in economics from the University of Copenhagen and an MBA from IMD Switzerland, complemented by board memberships in the Danish Foreign Policy Society, Danish Economist Society, and Danish Finance Society (where he holds honorary membership).

Berg's research centers on financial system dynamics and monetary policy, with expanding focus on financial regulation, capital markets, investment strategies, and geopolitical risk assessment. His work consistently addresses European financial stability challenges, regulatory frameworks, and cross-border economic security implications, particularly regarding defense financing and post-Brexit financial architecture.
