Jerzy Pałucki is a Professor at the Faculty of Theology of the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL), where he has held significant roles since 1981. As Dean (2003–2008) and head of the Department of Latin Patrology (since 1997), his career spans academic leadership, teaching, and research in patrology, patristics, and early Church history. He has organized national and international patristic symposia and contributed to the accreditation of theology and musicology programs.
- Education: Master of Theology (1981, KUL), Doctor of Theological Sciences (Patrology, 1988, KUL), Licentiate in Classical and Early Christian Literature (1990, Salesian Pontifical University, Rome)
Research Focus: His work centers on patristic studies of St. Ambrose and St. Paulinus of Nola, ecclesiology, liturgics, and the reception of patristic thought. His seminal monograph Trinitarian Dimension of the Church (2007) redefined patristic ecclesiology.
Teaching & Mentorship: He has supervised 30 master's theses and 4 doctoral dissertations, while teaching patrology, Church history, and Latin at KUL and theological seminaries in Poland and abroad.
- Scientific Awards: Silver Cross of Merit (2005), three Rector’s Awards (1996, 2000, 2005), and Honorary Chaplain of Pope John Paul II (1999).
Organizational Contributions: As Vice-Dean and Dean, he initiated new programs like Family Studies, reorganized the Institute of Musicology, and promoted the careers of 39 habilitated scholars and 309 doctors during his deanship.
