Jerry Flores is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM), affiliated with the Sociology tri-campus graduate department at the University of Toronto-St. George. His research examines how institutions such as schools, detention centers, and policing agencies intersect to shape the lives of at-risk Latinas and Indigenous women/girls in North America, focusing on intergenerational trauma, family violence, and historical oppression.
