Jerry Crain is a Professor at the University of Oklahoma's School of Electrical and Computer Enginering. He joined OU in 1994 through the Texas Instruments’ TI-Professor Program and served as Director from 1998 to 2005, overseeing academic programs and research initiatives.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Wichita State University (1964), Master of Science (1966) and PhD (1970) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado.
His research focuses on phased array antennas, radar systems, radomes, microwave antennas, and electromagnetic systems. He pioneered the development of the world's first phased array radar dedicated to weather observation at the National Weather Radar Testbed in Norman, OK, and has significantly contributed to graduate and undergraduate education, including courses on electromagnetic compatibility and antenna design.
