Dr. Mark Yeary is a Presidential Professor at the University of Oklahoma's Gallogly College of Engineering, holding the Hudson-Torchmark Presidential Professorship and the Gallogly Chair. He leads OU's Defense, Security, & Intelligence program and serves as CTO of the Oklahoma Aerospace & Defense Innovation Institute (OADII). With a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University (1999), his research focuses on digital signal processing, radar systems, and hardware prototyping for weather and defense applications. He pioneered the Horus all-digital radar and contributed to the National Weather Radar Testbed.
Research highlights include the Atmospheric Imaging Radar program, the Horus radar's role in tornado detection, and collaborations with NASA, NSF, and DARPA. Awards include IEEE Fellow and Fellow of CIWRO. He advises OU's AISES chapter and chairs radar sessions at AMS Annual Meetings. Current projects involve multi-beam weather surveillance and phased array advancements.
