Jerome Serri serves as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Lorraine, holding dual responsibilities in teaching at the Institute of Technology of Metz and research within the IMPACT department of LEM3 Laboratory (UMR CNRS 7239). His office is located at 7 rue Félix Savart, 57070 Metz (Building DN3-002), and he reports directly to Department 2 - IMPACT within this tripartite research unit jointly operated by the University of Lorraine, CNRS, and Arts et Métiers.
His research spans mechanical engineering and materials science with concentrated expertise in impact mechanics and structural dynamics. The IMPACT department focuses on high-velocity collision phenomena, penetration mechanics, and crash simulation, contributing to safety-critical applications in automotive and aerospace sectors. LEM3's experimental capabilities include advanced platforms like MécaRhéo for rheological testing and MicroMat for microstructural analysis.
The laboratory operates under European Union co-financing and maintains national/international project collaborations. Its organizational structure comprises three core departments (MMSV, IMPACT, T-PRIOM) and specialized platforms including Procédés for manufacturing processes and Calcul intensif for high-performance computing simulations.
