Jerome Dupras

Jerome Dupras is a Professor and researcher at the Department of Natural Sciences at the University of Quebec in Outaouais (UQO), where he also serves as the Canada Research Chair in Ecological Economics. His work bridges ecological economics, human geography, and regional planning with a focus on understanding and measuring the contribution of biodiversity and ecosystems to human well-being. He is affiliated with ISFORT (Institute of Temperate Forest Sciences) and maintains active roles in academic, policy, and community initiatives.

Professor Dupras's research interests center on the economic valuation of ecosystem services, the relationship between ecosystems and the production of ecosystem services, and land-use planning and governance. His scholarly work explores how socio-ecological modeling, economic theory, and environmental governance can inform sustainable development frameworks that respect ecological limits and community needs.
