Jeroen Hubert

Dr. Jeroen Hubert is a postdoctoral researcher and teacher at Wageningen University & Research, specializing in Marine Animal Ecology. His work focuses on understanding the effects of human activities, such as offshore wind farms and aquaculture, on marine environments. He holds a Bachelor's in Animal Husbandry from Hogeschool Inholland and a Master's in Biology from Leiden University, followed by a PhD and postdoctoral research at Leiden, where he studied anthropogenic sound impacts on marine species.

His research combines field and lab experiments using techniques like telemetry and video recordings. Key interests include sound effects on fish, crustaceans, and mussels, and optimizing marine management for ecological balance. He collaborates on projects integrating offshore energy with sustainable seafood production.

Recent studies explore soundscapes' effects on oyster settlement, pseudoreplication in acoustic experiments, and mussel monitoring technology (VGWatch). He co-supervises a PhD project on floating offshore energy and nature-inclusive seafood production.
