Jeremy Noel-Tod is Associate Professor in the School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia (UEA), where he has been a faculty member since 2009. He is Academic Director of the British Archive for Contemporary Writing and leads the Mellon-funded project 'Towards a Centre for Contemporary Poetry in the Archive'. He is a member of the Modern and Contemporary Writing Research Group and actively supervises PhD students in modern literature.

His research centers on modern and contemporary poetry, with a focus on British modernism, versification, the prose poem, and the work of T.S. Eliot. He has published extensively as an editor and critic, contributing to major literary reference works and anthologies. His public engagement includes regular contributions to the Guardian, London Review of Books, and Times Literary Supplement, and he was poetry critic for The Sunday Times from 2013 to 2021.
His recent scholarly output shows a sustained engagement with poetic form, editorial practice, and the intersection of poetry with public intellectual life. Key themes include the legacy of modernist poets, the evolution of poetic genres, and the archival preservation of contemporary writing.

He also serves as a trustee of the Norwich Puppet Theatre and was a school governor from 2014 to 2018.
He is a key member of the British Archive for Contemporary Writing team, where he leads initiatives to expand the archive’s role in contemporary poetry curation and public access.
