Dr Gareth Farmer is a Senior Lecturer in English at the University of Bedfordshire, affiliated with the School of Education and English Language. His research focuses on modern and contemporary poetry, poetics, and experimental literature, informed by literary theory, stylistics, and philosophy. He coordinates the BA English Language and Literature and MA English Literature programs, teaching courses such as 'Research Methods' and 'Literature and Modernity in the Long Twentieth Century.'

He serves as Joint Editor of the Journal of British and Irish Innovative Poetry and Senior Academic Consultant to the Veronica Forrest-Thomson Archive at Girton College, Cambridge.
His articles and reviews span topics like Sylvia Plath’s experimental poetics, Douglas Oliver’s political rhetoric, and F.T. Prince’s stylistic innovations. He actively collaborates with institutions like the Research & Innovation Service at Bedfordshire and contributes to academic networks such as the British Association of Modernist Studies.
Dr Farmer advises PhD candidates in modern poetry and poetics and has held roles like External Examiner for MA English Literature at the University of Plymouth. His work bridges academic research and creative practice, reflecting his commitment to interdisciplinary exploration and literary preservation.
