Dr Jeremy Davies is an Associate Professor of English at the School of English, University of Leeds, specializing in British Romantic writing and environmental humanities. He joined Leeds in 2011 after studying at Cambridge, Glasgow, and London, and currently serves as Director of Postgraduate Research for his school. As a leading scholar in ecological criticism and Anthropocene theory, he bridges historical literary studies with contemporary environmental discourse.

His research focuses on environmental approaches to British Romantic literature, analyzing intersections between industrialization, ecological change, and cultural representation. He is the editor of the 2022 Studies in Romanticism special issue An Inventive Age: Writing of the Industrial Revolution, 1770–1830, and organized the AHRC research network Interdisciplinary Dialogues in Industry and Literature, 1770-1830. His work explores how Romantic-period writers engaged with agricultural reform, industrial planning, and environmental transformation through philosophy and literature.
