Jeremy Carter

Jeremy Carter is Professor and Executive Associate Dean at Indiana University's Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. He holds a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University and directs research in criminal justice and public safety.

Research Focus: Dr. Carter's expertise spans crime analysis, law enforcement intelligence, predictive policing technologies, and evidence-based policy. His work examines technology impacts on police operations (mobile broadband, GPS monitoring), organizational adoption of intelligence-led policing, and spatial crime patterns. Recent projects develop real-time algorithms for social harm prediction and evaluate gunshot detection technology.

Publication Analysis: His research demonstrates consistent focus on policing innovation and technology impacts, with recent emphasis on algorithmic fairness in predictive policing and COVID-19 impacts on crime patterns.
