Jeremy Busby is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan (Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences) and Virginia Tech (Materials Science), while serving as the Associate Laboratory Director for Isotope Science and Enrichment at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). His career spans roles as Director of the Materials Science and Technology Division (2015–2019) and Division Director for Nuclear Energy and Fuel Cycle (2019–2022).
Dr. Busby’s research focuses on materials performance and development for nuclear reactor applications, including light water reactors, sodium reactors, space reactor systems, and fusion machines (e.g., ITER project). He led DOE’s Light Water Reactor Sustainability Research program (2009–2015) and coordinated analysis post-Fukushima (2011).
