Jeremy Brown is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and affiliated with the School of Biomedical Engineering at Dalhousie University. His research focuses on developing high-frequency ultrasound transducers and medical imaging systems for minimally invasive surgical applications. He leads a lab operating a clean room fabrication facility at Nova Scotia Health Authority, specializing in miniature ultrasound devices for neurosurgery, histotripsy, and 3D imaging.
Research interests include:
- Miniaturized ultrasound endoscopes for neuroimaging
- High-resolution histotripsy transducers for non-invasive tissue ablation
- 3D ultrasound imaging using advanced crossed-electrode arrays
- Medical device prototyping with emphasis on surgical applications
Recent work emphasizes translating lab innovations into clinical tools, such as the 8mm histotripsy array with integrated imaging and novel 3D imaging techniques achieving real-time volumetric scans.
