Jeremy Brice is a Lecturer in Sustainability and Innovation at the Alliance Manchester Business School, part of the University of Manchester. He is affiliated with the Sustainable Consumption Institute (SCI) and the Manchester Institute for Innovation Research (MIoIR). With a DPhil in Geography and the Environment from the University of Oxford, he transitioned to Manchester in 2022 after postdoctoral roles at Newcastle University, LSE, and Oxford.
His research bridges human geography, economic sociology, and Science and Technology Studies, focusing on ethics, sustainability, and risk governance in global agri-food systems. Key topics include digital marketplaces for food, ESG investment practices, and environmental policy. He collaborates with UK Food Standards Agency and European Parliament on food safety and sustainability.
Jeremy’s work is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, British Academy, and Food Standards Agency. His recent publications explore infrastructural life, ESG integration in livestock politics, and sub-Saharan agricultural investment. He contributes to UN SDGs related to sustainability and responsible consumption.
Jeremy’s research has been cited widely, with notable attention in policy and media. His interdisciplinary approach addresses transformative challenges in food systems, blending empirical and theoretical insights to inform policy and practice.
