His work focuses on understanding human behavioral evolution through geoarchaeological and lithic analysis, particularly in the Levant and southern Africa.
Research Interests:
- Use of geological data to reconstruct ancient human behavior
- Lithic raw material procurement strategies in Paleolithic contexts
- Hominin mobility patterns and resource utilization
- Paleoenvironmental reconstruction of Pleistocene refugia
- Integration of archaeometric techniques with traditional field methods
Recent work emphasizes collaborative projects like the Jordan Predictive Palaeoanthropology Project and investigations at Blombos Cave, South Africa. His 2024 publications address Azraq Basin prehistory, Levantine refugia, and Middle Stone Age lithic technology.
Funding: Supported by Research Council of Norway grant 262618. Active in international conferences including European Association of Archaeologists and Society for American Archaeology.
