معرفی
Christopher Miller is a Professor at the University of Bergen's Department of Archaeology, History, Cultural and Religious Studies. His research specializes in geoarchaeological approaches to understanding human behavior and environmental interactions during the Pleistocene, with fieldwork spanning key sites in South Africa, Italy, Germany, Kazakhstan, and Malawi.
His research interests focus on:
- Reconstruction of site formation processes using micromorphology and sediment analysis
- Paleoenvironmental contexts of human occupation during the Middle and Upper Paleolithic
- Hunter-gatherer adaptations to changing climates
- Interdisciplinary methods integrating geology, chemistry, and archaeology
Miller's publications demonstrate consistent focus on Pleistocene archaeology, with recent work emphasizing:
- High-resolution microstratigraphic analysis of cave sites
- Geoarchaeological interpretation of anthropogenic features
- Paleoenvironmental reconstruction in diverse ecological zones
- Integration of geophysical and microscopic techniques
He is an active collaborator in international research networks including the SapienCE Centre and has participated in projects funded by the Research Council of Norway (project 262618). His work involves extensive fieldwork coordination and laboratory analysis of archaeological sediments.
