Jeongbin Kim is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Florida State University (FSU), with an upcoming promotion to Associate Professor (with tenure). Previously, he held positions as a Research Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore and a Postdoctoral Scholar at Caltech. His research interests span experimental economics, behavioral economics, and microeconomic theory, focusing on topics like cooperation dynamics, time preferences, and decision-making under uncertainty.
Education includes a Ph.D. in Economics from Brown University (2017), an M.A. from Seoul National University (2011), and a B.A. from Yonsei University (2008). He teaches courses such as Advanced Experimental Economics (Ph.D.), Experimental Economics (Undergraduate), and Game Theory and Decisions.
His work has been recognized with awards including the 2025 College of Social Sciences and Public Policy Research Award and the 2023 First Year Assistant Professor Grant. Key contributions include studies on team coordination in repeated games, time preferences' impact on cooperation, and honesty induction mechanisms. Ongoing research explores discounting dynamics, LLMs in preference learning, and bargaining under collective decision-making.
