معرفی
Jens Stougaard is a Professor in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Aarhus University, Denmark, since 2006. Previously, he held positions as Associate Professor (1994-2006) and Assistant Professor (1990-1994) at Aarhus University. His research spans plant molecular genetics, legume genomics, and symbiosis, with a focus on nitrogen fixation and plant-microbe interactions.
Education:
- PhD, University of Sussex, UK (1979-1983)
Research Interests:
Professor Stougaard's research is centered on plant molecular genetics, particularly in legumes. His work encompasses legume genetics and genomics, plant development, receptors and signal transduction, plant-microbe interactions, symbiosis, and nitrogen fixation. He has made significant contributions to understanding the molecular mechanisms of symbiotic nitrogen fixation in plants.
Scientific Awards and Honors:
- The Villum Kann Rasmussen Annual Award for Technical and Scientific Research (2016)
- Elected member of the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences (ATV) (2015)
- Highly Cited Researchers 2014, ranked among the top 1% most cited in Animal and Plant Science (2014)
- Leader of Advanced Grant project awarded by the European Research Council (2012-2016)
- Director of the Centre for Carbohydrate Recognition and Signalling, Centre of Excellence Danish National Research Foundation (2007-2017)
- Elected member of European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) (2005)
Advising and Grants:
Professor Stougaard has supervised 22 PhD students, 24 final year students, and 12 exchange students. He has been the principal investigator for major grants including the European Research Council Advanced Grant (2012-2016) and directed the Centre for Carbohydrate Recognition and Signalling (2007-2017), funded by the Danish National Research Foundation.
Labs and Teams:
He is the Director of the Centre for Carbohydrate Recognition and Signalling at Aarhus University, a center of excellence focusing on the role of carbohydrates in biological recognition processes.
