Jens Ludloff serves as Professor and Head of the Chair of Sustainability, Construction and Design (IBK3) at the University of Stuttgart's Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning since 2014. His academic leadership extends to institutional roles including membership in the Bachelor selection committee, Master admission committee, and deputy chair of the examination board.
His educational foundation includes architecture studies at Fachhochschule Münster, Hochschule für Künste Bremen, and Krakow University of Technology, culminating in a Diplom degree in 1994. During his studies, he conducted research on Frank Lloyd Wright's work during a semester in the USA (1988).
Ludloff's research integrates sustainable building practices with architectural innovation, emphasizing ecological construction methods and design solutions for urban environments. His professional practice directly informs academic work through real-world application in sustainable development.
He maintains active committee engagements across academic governance structures while balancing institutional responsibilities with professional architectural practice.
Early career highlights include tutoring in design fundamentals at FH Münster (1989-1993), collaborations with Bolles+Wilson and sauerbruch hutton architects, and founding his Berlin-based firm ludloff + ludloff Architekten in partnership with Laura Fogarasi-Ludloff (2007). His international teaching spanned CUJAE Havana (2013-2014) and TU Eindhoven (2004).
