Jens Johan Kaasbøll is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Oslo's Department for Informatics. His academic career spans over three decades, focusing on health informatics, IT user competence, and health information systems. He has collaborated extensively with institutions in Africa, including Malawi, Ethiopia, and Tanzania, emphasizing technology implementation in healthcare.
His research interests include digital health platforms, user training, and improving data utilization in health management systems. He has advised three PhD students, including Florence Matewere, Abu Sayem, and Joseph Wu, whose work focuses on strengthening health surveillance and electronic medical records.
Key contributions include studies on community health information systems in Malawi and Ethiopia, mobile health applications for rural healthcare, and overcoming barriers in eHealth capacity building across African nations.
