Prof. Jens Blumenberg is an Honorary Professor with expertise in international and European tax law, M&A, and corporate taxation. He holds a PhD in Taxation from the University of Hamburg (1990) and has extensive professional experience as a partner at Linklaters LLP in Frankfurt, leading their German Commercial Division. His roles include advising multinational corporations on tax planning, restructuring, and EU law compliance. He teaches courses on corporate taxation under European law and M&A taxation, offered in a three-semester cycle. Active in academic and professional networks, he serves on the board of the Bavarian IFA section, the Ottmar Bühler Prize committee, and the tax committee of the Schmalenbach Society.
Education: Studied Business Administration at Hamburg University (1984-1989), followed by a PhD on shareholder debt financing taxation in the US. Professional Experience: Worked at Price Waterhouse in New York (1989-1991), the EU's Ruding Committee (1991-1992), and has been with Linklaters since 1992.
Research focuses on practical applications of tax law in global business contexts, emphasizing EU legal frameworks and cross-border transactions. His academic contributions bridge legal theory with corporate practice, particularly in M&A and transfer pricing.
