Jenny Piening is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Foundations and Leadership at Wayne State College (WSC), where she teaches in the School Administration graduate program. She holds a OTD from Creighton University, Ed.S. from WSC, MAT from College of Saint Mary, and B.S. from University of Nebraska.
- Former elementary principal at Norris and director of student services at Malcolm
- Former school-based occupational therapist and special education teacher
Research focuses on principal retention rates with emphasis on female principals. Engages in consulting and guest speaking for area schools/ESUs on teacher leadership and principal mentorship. Active in WSC's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
Serves on the board of Uplifting Paws, a nonprofit training service dogs for individuals with disabilities and therapy dog teams.
