معرفی
Professor Jenny Nichols leads the research group at the Institute of Genetics and Cancer, University of Edinburgh. Her work focuses on early mammalian development, lineage establishment, and regulation using stem cell-based models and mouse/human embryos.
- Employing stem cell models and mouse embryo systems
- Collaborating with assisted conception clinics for human embryo research
- Contributing to large-scale multi-omics resources
Her research explores cell competition, gene regulation, and developmental signaling mechanisms during gastrulation and organogenesis. Key methods include live imaging, single-cell sequencing, and genetic modification.
Recent publications highlight interdisciplinary approaches combining developmental biology with biophysics (2022) and computational biology (2021). Her team has made critical contributions to understanding Oct4/Stat3 signaling in pluripotency and cell fate allocation in embryos.
Laboratory members include postdoctoral fellows Takuya Azami, Lawrence Bates, Elena Corujo-Simon, and PhD students Connor Ross, Kasia Milto. Collaborations span institutions including University of Nottingham, Cambridge, Exeter, and Harvard University.
