Jenny Melli, MD is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine and Core Faculty at the Edward D. Viner Center for Humanism at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. She serves as Program Director for the Primary Care Track of Cooper’s Internal Medicine Residency Program. Her roles include directing the TEACH faculty development initiative and collaborating on mixed-methods research to enhance medical education. Dr. Melli practices primary care in Camden, focusing on underserved populations, while precepting residents and medical students.
Dr. Melli earned her medical degree from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, completing clinical rotations at Cooper University Hospital. She trained in Internal Medicine residency at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital. Her professional contributions include leadership in medical clerkship education (former Clerkship Director for Cooper Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship) and pioneering work in faculty development programs.
Her research interests center on optimizing clinical training environments, with studies examining factors influencing trainee experiences. She collaborates extensively with Britt Dahlberg, PhD, applying mixed-methods approaches to improve medical education outcomes. Personal interests include running, live music, and podcast listening.
