Jenny Lin

Jenny Lin is an Associate Professor of Critical Studies and Director of the MA Program in Curatorial Practices and the Public Sphere at the University of Southern California’s Roski School of Art and Design. She is currently on sabbatical leave during 2024-2025.

Education:

• PhD in Art History, University of California, Los Angeles
• MA in Art History, University of California, Los Angeles
• BA in Architectural Studies and Italian Studies, Brown University

Professor Lin’s research and curatorial work examine the intersections of modern and contemporary art and design with social phenomena such as urbanization and globalization. Her scholarship bridges intercultural studies, focusing on China, Italy, and the U.S., and she has organized major exhibitions like Picturing Global China and Another Beautiful Country: Moving Images by Chinese American Artists.

Scientific Awards:

• Rome Prize (2024-2025)
• Typography Award, Communication Arts

Her work has received support from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, UC Pacific Rim Research Program, and the University of Oregon Center for Asian and Pacific Studies. She has lectured globally at institutions including the National Gallery of Art (Washington, DC), University of Oxford, and the Poetry Foundation.
