Dr Jenny Harris is a Senior Lecturer in Cancer Care and Health Statistics at the University of Surrey's School of Health Sciences. She holds a PhD, MSc, and BSc (HONS). Her work focuses on cancer care, health statistics, and psychosocial oncology, with an emphasis on predictive risk modeling, digital health technologies, and patient-reported outcomes.
Her research explores areas such as symptom management during chemotherapy, the role of nurses in oncology settings, and the psychosocial aspects of cancer during pregnancy. She has led studies like the CAnceR IN PreGnancy (CARING) project and contributed to the eSMART trials evaluating remote symptom monitoring systems. Dr. Harris is also involved in methodological advancements, including cognitive interviewing and the development of assessment tools for healthcare teams.
In teaching and supervision, she guides postgraduate researchers on topics such as health scale measurement, statistical methods, and feasibility studies of digital innovations. Her recent publications reflect a trend toward integrating machine learning for early detection of health issues and improving healthcare delivery through technology and teamwork.
