Jenny Davis

Jenny Davis is an Associate Professor in the School of Sociology at the Australian National University (ANU) and serves as Deputy Director and Chief Investigator. Her work bridges technology studies and social psychology, focusing on inequality in technological contexts.

• Former Chair of the Communication, Information Technologies, & Media Sociology section of the American Sociological Association
• Founder and Co-Lead of the Role-Taking Lab at ANU

Her research explores the intersections of socio-technical systems, algorithmic ethics, and human-AI interaction, with a focus on materializing inequality in technological design. She is the author of How Artifacts Afford: The Power and Politics of Everyday Things (MIT Press, 2020).
