Jennifer van den Broek is a PhD Candidate at Tilburg University's Department of Criminal Law within the Tilburg Law School. She holds an MSc in Forensic Criminology (Leiden University) and an MA in Social Studies (Tilburg University). Her research focuses on education's role in social resilience against subversive crime, funded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO). She concurrently works three days weekly as a secondary school teacher in Utrecht.
Her research interests include organized crime prevention, youth crime dynamics, and early detection mechanisms in educational settings. She examines how schools can identify and mitigate student involvement in criminal networks through training and protocols.
Her recent work emphasizes secondary education's critical role in crime prevention, while earlier research analyzed face comparison methodologies in forensic contexts. She has received the NWO Doctoral Grant for Teachers, supporting her scholarship.
