Dr Jennifer Wallace is a Research Fellow in English at Peterhouse, University of Cambridge, where she has directed studies since 1995. She teaches undergraduate courses on literature from 1700–1900, tragedy (ancient and modern), lyric poetry, Shakespeare in Performance, Love, Gender and Sexuality, and Practical Criticism. Her research spans Romantic literature, classical reception in English literature, and the intersection of tragedy with ethical and cultural issues.

Wallace has authored influential books like Digging the Dirt: The Archaeological Imagination (2004), which explores memory and poetics through archaeology, and The Cambridge Introduction to Tragedy (2007). Her 2019 works address post-9/11 tragedy and global cultural memory. She also contributes to journalism, with articles in New Statesman and Times Literary Supplement.
As Senior Treasurer of the Peterhouse Heywood Society and member of the Cambridge University Greek Play Committee, she actively engages with drama and classical performance. Her fieldwork in Jharkhand, India, and writing for exhibitions highlight her interdisciplinary approach.
