Jennifer Morrish Tunberg is an Associate Professor in the Department of Classics at the University of Kentucky. Her research focuses on Neo-Latin novels and Latin fiction, with expertise in palaeography and medieval manuscripts. She holds a D.Phil. from St Anne's College, Oxford (1982), following earlier degrees from Oxford and the University of Western Ontario. Affiliations include the Classics Department and Modern & Classical Languages, Literatures & Cultures.
Her career includes roles as Visiting Professor at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (1995-96), Junior and Research Fellow at the Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies (1985-1990), and Assistant to the Curator of Manuscripts at the Walters Art Gallery (1982-85). She contributes actively to Humanistica Lovaniensia, a journal dedicated to Neo-Latin studies.
Her research spans works like Thomas More’s Utopia, Samuel Gott’s Nova Solyma, and John Barclay’s Argenis. Current investigations include Barclay’s 1621 text, extending her exploration of early modern Latin fiction.
