Jennifer Sykes is a Senior Lecturer in Creative Computing at the Creative Computing Institute (CCI), University of the Arts London, teaching on the Diploma and Graduate Diploma programs. Her research focuses on how process and mistakes inform material practices in creative computing, emphasizing tangible tools for education. She develops custom software/hardware, including sensors and interactive installations for artists/designers, with recent commissions from BBC, Glasgow International, and Edinburgh Art Festival.

- PhD: Creative Computing and Education (UAL CCI, 2020–present)
- MFA in Computational Arts (Goldsmiths, 2012–2014)
- Bachelor of Arts in Sculpture & Environmental Art (Glasgow School of Art, 2005–2009)
Her work bridges art and technology through physical computing, interactive prototyping, and creative coding. Recent research presented at xCoAx and EAD conferences explores pedagogical values of functional errors in coding education. She received the Alan Turing Enrichment Fund to support her innovative educational tools.
Teaching extends internationally with roles at Glasgow School of Art, Danish Royal Academy, Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design, and Umeå Institute of Design. Collaborative projects include interactive installations for Yuri Suzuki and Sonica Festival.
