Jennifer K. Ryan is the Frank L. Magee Professor and Department Chair for Decision and Technology Analytics at Lehigh University's College of Business. Prior to joining Lehigh in July 2025, she served as the inaugural Department Chair for Supply Chain Management and Analytics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she held the Van Horne Family Endowed Chair in Business.
Education:
- Ph.D. and M.S. in Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences, Northwestern University
- B.A. in Mathematics and the Social Sciences, Dartmouth College
Jennifer’s research focuses on inventory management, supply chain management, and applied stochastic modeling. Her work has been published in top-tier journals like Management Science, Operations Research, and Production and Operations Management. She has received multiple National Science Foundation (NSF) grants, including an NSF CAREER grant, and currently serves as a co-PI on an active NSF grant.
Professional Service:
- Focused Issue Editor for Supply Chain and Logistics at IISE Transactions (since 2021)
- Chair of INFORMS Educational Outreach Committee
- Member of INFORMS-NSF Liaison Committee
- Co-chair of 2015 Industrial and Systems Engineering Research Conference
Her academic leadership includes organizing committees for the Early Career Sustainable Operations Management Workshops (2024–2025) and contributing to the INFORMS Meeting of Analytics Program Directors.
