Jennifer Rutledge is an Associate Professor at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, part of the City University of New York (CUNY). She is affiliated with the International Criminal Justice MA, Human Rights MA, and Environmental Justice Minor programs.

Her research and teaching focus on social policy and comparative politics, particularly food politics, the welfare state, and state legitimacy. She has published in journals such as Food, Culture and Society, Asian Politics and Policy, and Food Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal. Her book Feeding the Future: The Emergence of School Lunches as Global Social Policy (Rutgers University Press, 2016) examines the intersection of public health, the state, and capitalism globally, receiving recognition as a top 16 book of 2016 by This Is Hell Radio, with her interview on the program named the best of 2016.
Jennifer teaches courses including POL 234 (Introduction to Public Policy), POL 257 (Introduction to Comparative Politics), POL 409 (Senior Research Seminar), ICJ 703 (International Criminal Law), and ECJ 200 (Introduction to Environmental Justice).
