Dr. Jennifer Perry Cecile is an Associate Professor and Department Chair at Appalachian State University in the Department of Chemistry and Fermentation Sciences. She is a research mentor with a focus on biochemistry, biophysical chemistry, and molecular biology.
- Ph.D. in Biophysical Chemistry from Duke University
Her research explores organic anion transporters (OATs), including their structure/function relationships, genetic variability, and regulation. She utilizes techniques from biochemistry and molecular biology, with a notable emphasis on Caenorhabditis elegans as a model system and computational modeling of transporter proteins.
Recent publications highlight her work on xenobiotic transport, Moringa oleifera's antimicrobial properties, biofilm formation in Vibrio cholerae, and the role of lipid rafts in OAT3 regulation. Her studies span from 2001 to 2020, focusing on pharmacology, toxicology, and protein structure.
