Dr. Jennifer Nicol is a Research Fellow at the School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences, The University of Queensland. She holds a PhD in Human Movement Studies and has a strong background in biochemistry and statistics, with additional qualifications including a Bachelor of Science (Honours) and a Masters (Coursework) of Science.

Her research focuses on exercise interventions for haematological cancers, particularly multiple myeloma, examining how physical activity affects functional outcomes, biological markers, and quality of life. She has conducted extensive clinical trials investigating the safety, feasibility, and effectiveness of individualised, multi-modal exercise programs in cancer patients.
Recent studies include randomised controlled trials on bone-targeted exercise interventions, systematic reviews of exercise efficacy in multiple myeloma, and investigations into clinical haematologists' attitudes toward exercise prescription. Her work has been funded by the World Cancer Research Fund International (2023) and presented at numerous international conferences.
Dr. Nicol is available for postgraduate supervision and has contributed to over 37 academic works, including journal articles, conference papers, and a book chapter on chronic kidney disease. She collaborates with institutions across Australia and internationally, with a focus on equitable cancer care and implementation science.
