Jennifer Moss is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and the Department of Public Health Sciences at Pennsylvania State University, and a member of the Penn State Cancer Institute. Her research focuses on geographic disparities in cancer prevention behaviors, rural health, adolescent health (particularly HPV vaccination), and social epidemiology. She holds a PhD in Health Behavior from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill (2010-2015) and completed a Cancer Prevention Fellowship at the National Cancer Institute (2015-2018).
Her work includes two major grants from the National Cancer Institute: a 2014 project on adolescent vaccination and a 2019-2022 initiative to improve cancer screening in underserved rural communities. She has published over 78 peer-reviewed articles, with recent work addressing lung cancer disparities in poverty-stricken rural counties and the impact of social engagement on cancer survivors.
Moss received the 2023 Junior Faculty Teaching Award and actively participates in translational research to bridge gaps in healthcare equity. Her projects emphasize innovative solutions like self-sampling kits for cervical and colorectal cancer screening to address disparities in underserved populations.
