Jennifer McMahon

Dr. Jennifer McMahon is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Tasmania, with qualifications including a Bachelor of Education (First Class Honours) from James Cook University and PhD from UTAS. Her research focuses on trauma-informed practices, abuse prevention in sports, and qualitative methodologies.

Research interests include trauma-informed approaches in education and sports settings, athlete welfare, and innovative qualitative methods. Recent work explores arts-based trauma-informed research methodologies and coach wellbeing.

She has received the Medal of the Order of Australia for research impact. Current doctoral supervision includes projects on trauma-impacted students and autism in sports.

Funding includes an International Olympic Committee grant for athlete and coach-led abuse education programs.
