Jennifer McEntee

Jennifer McEntee, MD, MPH, MA.Ed serves as an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, with appointments across Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Palliative Care. She is a core faculty member in the Department of Medicine's Division of Hospital Medicine and holds the significant leadership position of Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr. McEntee provides clinical care at multiple sites including UNC Hospitals Chapel Hill, UNC Hospitals Hillsborough Campus, and the State Employees Credit Union (SECU) Jim and Betsy Bryan Hospice Home in Pittsboro.

Her educational journey includes dual undergraduate degrees (BS and MA) from the University of Notre Dame, an MPH from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, an MD from the University of Oklahoma, residency training in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at UNC Chapel Hill, a fellowship in Palliative Care at Duke University, and a Master of Education from the University of Notre Dame. Dr. McEntee maintains board certification in Internal Medicine (2012), Pediatrics (2013), and Internal Medicine-Hospice and Palliative Medicine (2016).

Dr. McEntee's professional focus centers on hospitalized care and palliative medicine for both adult and pediatric populations. She champions the interdisciplinary approach to inpatient care while emphasizing humanism and empathy in medical practice. Her educational interests span undergraduate and graduate medical education, competency-based assessment, faculty development, and creating inclusive learning environments.
